Should I have my air conditioner serviced every year?

Yes, you should have your air conditioning unit serviced once a year just to get the longest lifespan out of it. The average air conditioner's life span is about 12 to 15 years. An indoor plugged or dirty air filter can be a huge issue. An outdoor coil plugged with dirt or cottonwood tree fluf can shorten the life of the unit. Also there are electrical components inside the outdoor unit that should also be checked on a regular basis. Mice and critters sometimes like to winter over in the electrical compartment of the outdoor unit.
